Beth Watson is an accomplished financial services consultant with more than three decades of experience guiding banks and credit unions through complex risk management and regulatory challenges. As Partner of Risk Consulting at Strategic Risk Consulting, LLC, she partners with financial institutions to strengthen governance, improve risk maturity, and achieve regulatory compliance. Her areas of expertise include enterprise-wide capital stress testing, risk and control assessments, regulatory gap analysis, exam remediation, and fractional Chief Risk Officer engagements.
Beth’s consulting career includes serving with SRA Watchtower, where she led enterprise risk management implementations for more than 50 institutions and delivered risk maturity assessments for nearly 100 others. At SS&C Technologies, she worked with institutions from under $1 billion to over $70 billion in assets, specializing in CECL implementations and cloud-based reserving solutions.
Earlier, Beth spent over 25 years with BDO USA, LLP, where she built her reputation as a trusted advisor providing audit, compliance, and consulting services to financial institutions.
Beth is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Niagara University. She is a board member and past President of the Risk Management Association’s Carolinas and Virginias regional chapter, and a past President of its Richmond, Virginia local chapter. She is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
