With more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, Robert Mancini leads SRA Consulting’s Payments & Business Services practice, partnering with financial institutions and fintech companies worldwide on payment modernization, digital asset strategy, and business transformation. He has served in numerous executive roles across leading banks, fintechs, and consulting firms, establishing himself as a trusted advisor on payments innovation and digital transformation.

Robert’s most recent bank appointment was Head of Commercial Banking reporting to the Vice Chair and CEO, where he drove the transformation and creation of new financial services to augment non-interest income and deposit growth along with strategic roadmap development for the entire commercial bank. He also held various senior roles at domestic and foreign leading global banks, with extensive experience in global treasury management, strategic product development, and partnership management with financial institutions and technology vendors. This experience with major global banks provides him unique insights that enable him to bring world-class best practices to mid-tier and smaller financial institutions—helping them compete with capabilities previously available only to the largest institutions.

Robert’s consulting experience spans specialized international research and advisory firms as well as boutique strategy consultancies, where he provided insight and analysis on technology and payments strategy, assisted financial institutions in market selection and best practices for system implementations, and advised both banks and technology vendors on business and technology strategies to drive growth. He has been dedicated to helping financial institutions rapidly create new business strategies and modernize their technology infrastructure to capture competitive advantage.

His fintech experience includes a long tenure at a top 3 global fintech with $2B+ in revenue across 130+ countries, where he served as Head of Payments globally reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer. In this role, he led strategic engagements with bank partners to modernize their payment platforms, implement new products and services, and drive revenue growth through digital transformation initiatives. He also led Strategic Programs supporting Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) initiatives including SMB lending platforms, establishing partnerships between banks and fintech innovators to expand market reach and service capabilities.

Robert leads a team of senior practitioners representing the top tier of digital assets and payment modernization expertise globally. The team combines decades of practitioner-level experience across payment systems architecture, digital asset implementation including the first-of-its-kind cryptocurrency platform integration with a regulated bank, payment hub modernization enabling fiat-to-cryptocurrency settlement, and risk management for digital assets including co-authorship of the industry-defining book “Banking on Blockchain.” The team’s global experience spans the Americas, Asia, and Europe—combining local market knowledge with international best practices to guide clients through complex transformations.

Robert holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and an MBA in Technology Management. He is a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) and has held numerous board appointments including Board Director at Bankers Association for Finance and Trade (BAFT).
